Share on Social Media:

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has called on citizens to stand in solidarity with his ailing deputy, Alhaji Aminu Alkali, urging the public to show compassion, understanding, and collective support during this difficult period.

Speaking during a state function in Jalingo, the governor described his deputy as a committed partner in governance whose dedication to public service has significantly contributed to the progress of the state. He noted that the deputy governor’s illness has been a challenging moment for the administration, but stressed the importance of unity and encouragement in helping him recover.

“We are a family in Taraba State. At times like this, we must close ranks and show love and support to our brother and leader. I urge everyone to remember him in prayers and keep faith that he will recover fully,” the governor said.

The governor also appealed to political stakeholders, community leaders, and civil society groups to refrain from speculation or politicizing the deputy governor’s health condition. He emphasized that the focus should be on his well-being and the continued smooth running of government affairs.

Reports indicate that Alkali has been undergoing medical care, though details of his illness have not been disclosed to the public. Sources within Government House say the deputy governor remains in high spirits and is appreciative of the outpouring of goodwill messages.

The governor assured the public that the state executive council remains united and committed to delivering on its mandate despite the temporary absence of the deputy governor from some official functions.

Civic groups and religious leaders across Taraba have also joined the call for prayers, describing the deputy governor as a man of peace and vision. Social media platforms have seen a surge in messages of support, with hashtags such as #PrayForAlkali and #TarabaUnited trending among local users.

Governor Kefas expressed optimism that with sustained medical care, the deputy governor would soon return to full health and continue his role in advancing the state’s development agenda.
