According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Jose Mourinho, 61, is poised to take over as manager of Fenerbahce, signing a two-year contract with the Turkish Super Lig club. This marks Mourinho’s 11th managerial role in his illustrious career.

Fenerbahce’s decision to seek new leadership comes after finishing second in the Turkish Super Lig for the third consecutive year. The club aims to break this streak and achieve greater success under Mourinho’s guidance.

Mourinho’s appointment follows his departure from Roma in January, where he managed for two-and-a-half years. Despite earlier reports linking him to Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah, it appears his next destination is Turkey.

Mourinho’s new role at Fenerbahce coincides with his recent announcement to join TNT Sports for the coverage of the Champions League final on June 1. Known as ‘The Special One,’ Mourinho has expressed a strong desire to return to management after a five-month break.

In a previous interview with MBC Egypt, Mourinho hinted at a future managerial position in Saudi Arabia, saying, “I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time, but I am convinced that I will work there. I don’t know when, but I am pretty sure of it. No one knows the future, but I will definitely do this. Doors are always open for me in Saudi Arabia. I want to feel the development there.”

For now, Mourinho is set to take the reins at Fenerbahce, aiming to bring glory back to Istanbul. Despite Fenerbahce’s strong performance last season, amassing 99 points, they fell three points short of their rivals Galatasaray. Mourinho’s expertise and leadership are expected to propel the club to new heights.
