Zelensky Urges Direct Talks with Putin to End Russia-Ukraine War

Share on Social Media:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has once again expressed his willingness to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin directly in an effort to bring an end to the prolonged Russia-Ukraine war.

Speaking at a global peace summit held in Geneva, Zelensky said the time had come for “brave political decisions” and that only face-to-face dialogue could lead to a sustainable ceasefire and long-term peace in the region.

“I am ready to meet Putin wherever and whenever necessary,” Zelensky said. “The people of Ukraine deserve peace, and I believe this war can only end through meaningful dialogue.”

The Russian government has not responded officially to the latest proposal, but Kremlin sources have hinted at possible conditions for engaging in such talks.

Since the war began in February 2022, multiple attempts at diplomacy have failed to stop the fighting, which has claimed thousands of lives and displaced millions. Zelensky’s renewed call comes amid growing international pressure and humanitarian concerns in eastern Ukraine.

International leaders and observers have welcomed Zelensky’s statement, urging both sides to explore peaceful solutions to avoid further escalation.

As global attention remains fixed on the conflict, many are hopeful that a Zelensky-Putin summit could become a turning point in the devastating war.
