INEC Says Ready for Saturday’s Kogi State By-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has affirmed that all preparations are complete for the upcoming by-election in Kogi State’s Dekina/Okura State Constituency, scheduled for Saturday.

Speaking during a briefing, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Oliver Agundu underscored INEC’s commitment to maintaining a free, fair, and transparent election process. He emphasized that only registered voters in possession of a valid Permanent Voter Card (PVC) will be eligible to cast ballots. Futhermore, Agundu issued a stern warning against the dissemination of fake news, highlighting that misinformation poses a serious threat to election credibility.

Agundu also confirmed that voter registration exercises for the 2027 general elections will commence shortly after the by-election, encouraging eligible Nigerians to participate and uphold electoral integrity.
