Wizkid’s ‘Joro’ Achieves Major Sales Milestone in the United States
Wizkid’s popular track “Joro” has reached an impressive milestone, achieving 500,000 sales in the U.S., making it eligible for an RIAA gold certification. Released in September 2019, “Joro” has become one of the latest Afrobeats songs to reach this level in the American market.

Since its debut, “Joro” has resonated with listeners both in Nigeria and internationally, boosting Afrobeats’ global presence. Produced by Northboi, the song has accumulated over 125 million streams on Spotify, along with 290 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most-watched Afrobeats music videos on the platform.
This certification adds to Wizkid’s growing list of RIAA awards, further solidifying his record as the most certified Nigerian artist in the U.S. Wizkid remains the only Nigerian artist to achieve a diamond certification in the U.S., thanks to his feature on Drake’s “One Dance.”
His other RIAA certifications include a 4X platinum plaque for “Essence” featuring Tems and “Come Closer” featuring Drake. He has also received gold plaques for hits like “Soco,” “Mood” featuring BNXN, “Call Me Everyday” with Chris Brown, and “Brown Skin Girl” with Beyonce and Saint Jhn.
