KWAM 1 Airport Drama: FAA, NCAA React as Singer Faces Legal Heat Over Abuja Flight Incident

KWAM 1 Abuja Airport Incident has taken over headlines after the legendary Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, allegedly caused a disruption at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

According to reports from Daily Post, Pulse Nigeria, and Gazette Nigeria, the singer boarded a ValueJet flight with a flask containing a liquid prohibited on board. Security staff requested that he surrender it, but he refused, allegedly spilling it on a crew member and blocking the aircraft’s movement on the tarmac.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) condemned the act as a serious breach of aviation safety. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) suspended the involved flight crew and petitioned the Attorney-General and Inspector-General of Police to prosecute KWAM 1. They also issued him a six-month flight ban.

In a statement, KWAM 1 apologized, insisting the flask contained water for medical reasons due to chronic dehydration, not alcohol. He appealed for understanding and forgiveness.

Public reactions remain divided, with many Nigerians demanding equal legal accountability regardless of status. Aviation authorities maintain that safety regulations apply to all passengers without exception.
