Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced a ₦1 billion donation alongside essential relief materials to support victims of floods, insecurity, and fire incidents in Niger State. The gesture was delivered through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) during a visit on August 6, 2025.

At the Government House in Minna, Tinubu presented the cheque and 2,000 bags of rice, clothes, shoes, and materials to Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and the State Executive Council. The relief package targets displaced families resulting from floods, bandit attacks, boat mishaps, and fires, across multiple local councils including Mokwa, Paikoro, and communities along riverine areas. punchng.com+15thenationonlineng.net+15integritynews.com.ng+15

Oluremi Tinubu described the donation as part of Nigeria’s broader humanitarian response:

“As a mother, I share your pain and grieve the losses. May God comfort you and restore hope.”

Governor Bago expressed gratitude, confirming the funds entered the state’s emergency account for immediate disbursement to affected households.

The relief materials include 2,000 bags of 50 kg rice, 16,000 wrappers for women, and 100 pairs of shoes, symbolizing the administration’s commitment to dignity restoration. This donation follows earlier RHI interventions across Plateau and Benue, reinforcing the First Lady’s ongoing engagement in crisis relief. thenationonlineng.net+1
