Delta APC Suspends Three Members Over Protocol Breach
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has indefinitely suspended three members from Ward 1, Umutu, following allegations of breaching party protocol and engaging in unauthorized political activities. The decision was taken after a meeting on August 14, 2025, held in Umutu with Ward 10 executives in attendance Vanguard News.
The disciplinary action stems from the accused members’ participation in a meeting held in Asaba where political endorsements were made without navigating the party’s formal approval processes. Officials cited impersonation, procedural misconduct, and disregard for internal party structure as the main reasons behind the suspension Vanguard News.
A formal suspension notice was addressed to the local government APC Chairman, Mr. Churchill Edem, and copied to the suspended members. The action follows a previous case in which a local government party official in Obiaruku was similarly suspended under comparable circumstances Vanguard News.
Reacting to the suspension, Onotu Henry Okechukwu, a former delegate to the APC’s 2022 national convention and prominent Ward 1 leader, emphasized the importance of adhering to the party’s constitution.
