Customs Meets Shippers Over Complaints on B’Odogwu Terminal
Customs Engages Shippers to Address Complaints Over B’Odogwu
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has opened discussions with shippers and key stakeholders to resolve mounting complaints over operational challenges linked to the B’Odogwu terminal.
Shippers had earlier raised concerns about delays, charges, and alleged bottlenecks at the facility, which they said were affecting cargo clearance and increasing logistics costs.
During the engagement, Customs officials assured the shipping community that steps were being taken to address the issues. The Service emphasized its commitment to maintaining transparent, efficient, and fair trade processes while strengthening relationships with stakeholders in the maritime sector.
According to sources, the meeting also provided an avenue for shippers to table their grievances directly, ranging from administrative delays to technical challenges within the terminal operations.
The Customs leadership stressed that effective collaboration with terminal operators and stakeholders remains the only way to ensure smooth cargo movement and sustain Nigeria’s competitiveness in regional trade.
Industry observers say the intervention is timely, as resolving such complaints could boost confidence in the sector, ease business operations, and improve revenue generation for the government.
